From what I understand, dipping the corals should kill aiptasia yes? I use bayer advance. The wife got some aiptasia and in her tank so we are starting over, shes super lazy with her tank and we are apart at the moment so I cant keep an eye on it. She has some corals that personally I would like to keep and grow out however I don't want to infest my tank with aiptasia. I will qt these corals for some time to be sure but has anyone had luck with killing aiptasia with dipping. I am willing to try different chemicals to dip with. Thanks for your input!

Dips usually will not kill aptasia, manual removal works best if you can remove the rock work that is of concern. All sorts of other methods to kill aptasia including Kalk paste, lemon juice, super glue and lasers....
There are also animals that feed on them but there is no sure thing....

Ok, call me slow, but this is the 3rd or fourth post I've seen here about killing aiptasia with lasers. I thought it was just a joke... Until for giggles, I looked it up and, holy crap, there really are lasers for killing this stuff. Learned something new tonight.

Yup, MELEV and I and many others have used them with success..
I still like manual removal is best if you can get in it early...

Ok so it seems like I'll just keep a close eye on it in the qt and wait for them to rear their ugly little...or not so little in this case...heads. I'll probably go with aiptasia x as I have had success with it in the past.

I would absolutely love to get a Lazer and we'll basically kill it with fire, but those suckers are expensive

AND, there are also Majano Wands. ;)

+1 and IME peppermints will not eat a glass anemone which is bigger than it is.
Fully agree with this. When I had an outbreak froma lack of quarantine practice, I used aiptasia x. Definitely worked wonders. I bought some peppermint shrimp as I feared the end of my bottle and while I have never seen any new aiptasia, I had to finish off the 4 remaining ones with aiptasia x. Prior to adding the peppermints I had to use aiptasia X at least every other day.

Over the years I have used everything wands, lasers, Kalk paste , berghia nudibranch and peppermints. Dipping does nothing to Aptasia they will laugh at it.
Best combo is peppermints and kalk injections.(Aiptasia x) I keep peppermints in my tank at all times now as even if you think you have gotten Aptasia out of your tank they will show back up. I wish SPS where as hardy as them.:)

Those things will also hide in frags. I went a year and a half without any and one day there was 2. Found 3 more hiding under a frag. I removed the rock and got the ones under the frag. So far so good. On the aptasia x and joes juice stuff you gotta hit them dead on at the mouth. When I used to use those products I found the sometimes it just ticked them off
