I’d not recommend it. They can spawn from even partial remains, you may even make the problem worse by dispersing remains around your tank.

I’ve not used it, but most LFS owners in my city uniformly recommend RedSea’s Aiptasia X. In my case, I noticed a number of small ones, installed 4 peppermint shrimp and haven’t seen any for the last 4 months.

How ever this is well and good peppermint shrimp have a thing with coral and have been known to kill them
 
so this worked out pretty well. turns out the aptasia was on the base of a coral and i was able to scrub it out and then dipped the coral.
 
Yes, I highly recommend Red Sea Aiptasia-X, it seals the mouth, implodes it and dissolves it. Also, if you put Aiptasia-X along the perimeter mat of GSP or zoas, it will keep them from spreading for 2-3 months.
