I have a small piece of live rock with a leather perched on top. 4" diameter at the base, 4" tall but narrow.

The base has a lot of aptasia, it would be easy to dip just the base and leave the coral exposed.

The question is what could Indip the piece of live rock in, that would kill the aptasia, but still go back in the DT after a quick dunk in clean RO/DI?

if you do the boiled RO water...be very careful. rinse very well. If you kill off the aiptasia, odds are youll have die off on that part of rock. You dont want to re-cycle your tank.

I wouldn't boil them. They have stinging cells just like zoas do and toxins. You probably don't want to breath that in.

How many are we talking about? You could just use kalk paste.

Ever thought about pep shrimp? I put 3 in my 25. They all died after they got rid of the 5 or so aiptasia I had

Toxins in nematocisti are completely inactivated by water over 50 centigrades

Hard to see but I count 8-9 individuals.

So probably 1 bilions of china people should be died as they boiled and eat jelly fish and anemone Every day

Are you thinking squid? I didn't know people ate either anemones or jelly fish.

Peppermint shrimps the way to go. Cleared up my display tank in 1 week. Just don't feed your fish or corals for a few days.
