Aptasia Miracle!

This happened to me once. Had a great aptasia garden growing, killing my corals. Then they started to disappear. Thought maybe my filefish was finally doing its job. All fish and rest of corals seemed happy.. a few days and it was almost all gone.. tested water and everything looked good. Did a water change and bam! The garden was back in 12 hrs. Since then the tank has been shut down, cleaned and restarted.. oh and the filefish only ate my zoas

Spent $350 on Berghia. My Wrasse ate them.
Used Aptasia X and Pickling Lime. The aptasia just grew in thicker.
Copperband and File fish are worthless. At least mine are.
LOVE the Majano Wand. Worth every penny. But I still couldn't get to all of them behind rocks, etc.

My Aptasia disappeared overnight like magic. Strange. Will be interesting to see what happens with a large water change.

For one how do you kow your wrasse ate the nudi’s? You will not see them during the day as nudi’s are strictly nocturnal. During the day they are deep with the pores of the rock work, so unless your wrasse are them at night and highly doubtful since they sleep at night, then the nudi’s most likely did their job.

An off gas by stirring the sand bed? Find a new store if they told ya that nonsense.

I have one large aptasia in the back of my rock work that I cannot get to. I only see the one. I have tried really hard to make sure no aptasia got in the tank. I have not added anything in almost a year. I noticed this one aptasia about a month ago. It’s head is about an inch across and the base extends about two inches high.

I have not seen it spread. But I can’t get to it without tearing apart the rock work and disrupting corals etc.

Should I just but the bullet and get that rock and remove or leave it alone? I don’t want an outbreak, but at the moment it doesn’t bother anything. What are the chances the one aptasia won’t spread and be ok?
What would you do? Leave it or get it out?

I do wonder about the Amquel. I used lots of this stuff out of fear once upon a time in my fish only tanks. Or mostly fish only tanks. And I mean lots of it. 140 gallon tank and over a period of time I bet I used about a gallon. I since believe my ammonia test was faulty. But I have never had any aptasia in it. The tank that I never put Amquel into had some. I did finally get rid of it. But only after getting peppermint shrimp. Food for thought. The tanks were next to each other.

How about an update on this? Did your aptasia problem come back?
