Aptasia on my wwc fruit loop , question on removing please

just picked up this nice zoa frag from wwc which came with a free aptasia "thanks wwc" anyways I understand nobody can sell corals and keep them 100% free of aptasia but for this pricey frag you would think otherwise. Anyways I have aptasia x and know how to use it and killed aptasia from other frags I picked up successfully but they weren't zoas and my question is if the aptasia x touches the tissue (not the mouth the part underneath) of the zoa will it kill? There are 5 other heads on this frag I think I can shoot the X carefully enough (powerheads off)so it only hits the side tissue of one of my fruit loops. I know all about the shrimp that eat aptasia had them don't want any more and I know about quarantine, so please help me by answering if the aptasia x will kill the zoa or the whole colony if it touches the underneath tissue of one of the zoas, thank you guys.

You should easily be able to pick that frag plug and use small scissor or bone cutter to just cut it out...you should not be needing to cut the frag plug for this. Do it outside the tank water and then gently wash it to remove any broken pieces of the pest...

I know this method which I might end up doing, but do you know if aptasia x kills the tissue of he zoa or not?

Pretty sure aptasia x will kill the does if any gets eaten by them. Why not just scrape off the aptasia? Take it out of water, scrape it, rinse it, done

I've used Aiptasia X in between my zoa polyps with no ill effects

I'll try it's gonna be like a blind scrape cause it's really tiny can only see it zoomed with a camera. It's clearly stinging the polyp though the way it curls up trying to stay away from it so gotta help the little guy out. I'm gonna give it a try , thanks for the replies samsreef and kmsutows.

I would not risk aptasia x on the zoas. It can and will upset the polyps. Right now you have a little problem, why turn it into a possible bigger problem. I agree with the others in removing the coral from the tank and remove the aptasia from the coral. I think that would honestly be your best option without the possibility of causing it to spread. Nice zoas by the way, always wanted those.

Cool thanks man gonna scrape that whole frag plug with a razor blade till its white rinse it put the fruit loops back in and hope I got the sucker.

Really can't see them they are super tiny so gonna just scrape and hope for the best , oh yea this made me remember another post , I could put frag plug epoxy on the area I scraped and it suffocates any aptasia I might have missed

Turns out it's growing on the tissue of the polyp , do I just cut the one polyp off with a sharp blade and call it a day?

No, you can save the polyp. Normally with a sharp blade you can scrape it off pretty good. If your having trouble with it then maybe you can cut your loss. If there were more polyps I'd say cut it off but I'm sure they weren't cheap so I'd try to save it man.

from my experience, when there is one there is another someplace else. Keep a watchful eye one it..If you use aiptasia x take the frag out of the tank or you will end up with more. Been there done that.lol

I’ve used aptasia x in between zoas to kill aptasia. Didn’t hurt the Zoa for me. I don’t pull much into the syringe when I do it tho so very little touches the zoas tho.

I just pull the frag out and when the aptasia retracts, put superglue over it. I've gotten aptasia from WWC frags, and the aptasia was a lot bigger than yours.
