Aptasia on new coral plug

Arrived home today with a new leather and it has, what I assume is Aptasia? What’s the best cause for action, before adding the coral to my tank?

Based on the pic, it looks like there's ~4 aiptasias on that frag.... I think I'd refrag it or glue it directly to the rock.

Alternatively you could try to kill the aiptasia, but that just seems like a rock that needs to be left behind to me.

Hot water squirt into each mouth or lime juice will kill them but I agree with previous response that transfer to a new plug would be best.

get rid of the rock and remount it like mentioned. your asking for trouble putting it in your tank.

I removed the coral from the rock and tossed the whole rock. Thanks for everyone’s help!

Put it outside for a bit until the Aptasia is dead. Clean and keep the rock. You may need a piece just like it in the future
