I got this gsp frag today and dipped it etc and I am now trying to figure if this is aptasia on it or just not fully opened / mature gsp?

looks suspicious to me but would be interested to get a better view from more advanced eyes.

it doesn’t have the fluorescent tops like the other gsp (there are 3 color varieties growing on this frag. A bright green, a blueish green, and then a pale green. Are there diff types of names for these gsp?)

Maybe some clove polyps on the plug. Doesn’t look like aptasia

Sweet thank you!! Glad to hear that.
Have you heard of different color types for gsp?
Can I just cut them so it kills them off? I don’t want it to spread all over.

I plan on putting the gsp on a rock so it stays secluded
Yes there are different colour morphs and centers. Those are just babies that will look the same as the others in time. You should be able to see they are all sprouted from the same purple base (stolon).

Kind of the wrong coral to choose if you don't want them to spread - that's what they do. Why not just put them on their island now?

Oh ok so possibly not clove then?

I do want them to spread just on my island no where else. I’m getting the rock for the island today so it’ll be away from glass / main rock structure. I just have been reading about blue star getting to other places so I wanted to nip those out fast.

but if you think they are just baby gsp then I will leave them.

Here is another picture.

the green is gsp is the coral to the left of it gsp or something else (star polyp)?
