Hey there!

I have an unfortunate aptasia problem which peps did nothing for, and I'd like to get them gone. I feel as though my only options at this point are berghia nudis(sp?) or aptasia eating file fish. Id prefer nudis but i have 4 wrasses total in this tank. Is it worth trying or are thy just going to become expensive food?

Expensive food

Berghia did nothing for my aiptasia mess. I assume because of the wrasses.
I aggressively killed the demons with alk paste (literally taking pieces of rock out and painting it with the paste.) I found a Copperband butterfly who cleaned up the rest.
My matted filefish did make a dent, but picked at my Duncan and acans. So he was evicted.

Im hoping to add a filefish and he will take care of the problem before receiving a eviction notice. My infestation is not terrible by any means but I don't want it to get there. Aptasia x has done nothing for me.

I’m about to try the nudibranches, and I have a H. Melanurus wrasse. I hear the nudibranches are nocturnal, and I plan to realesse late in my light cycle after the Melanurus goes to bed. My lights ramp up/down, and the Melanurus wakes up a while after the lights start ramping up and goes to bed a while before the lights ramp all the way down. Hopefully, the nudibranches will be hidden in the rock work while the Melanurus is awake.

I was worried about the same. I have 9 fish total and out of those my concern were with the two Wrasses ( Melanurus and Flasher),CBB, and Hawk Fish. The Berghia are nocturnal so I observed the fish at night to get an idea if it would be worth it. The Melanurus is buried in the sand about an hour before the lights go out so he wasn't a problem, and observing the other fish when the lights are out I noticed none of them in a hunting mode at all and basically just chilling. What relieved me was seeing a few of the Berghia weeks later during the night crawling on some rocks knowing that they didn't become a snack.
I added 10 mixed sizes of Berghia in April and another 6 of the larger size a couple of weeks later. By the end of July there was no more Aptasia in my tank.

I bought a small hermit tank filled it up and put bergin in there and just do a new piece every 4 days cause I had wrasse then when I get mulitpies I was going to add them to the display and see how it plays out

Last weekend I tried kalkwasser paste with excellent results, Aiptasia just melted away.
Turn off the wavemakers for 30 minutes, made the paste and with a syringe I put it on top (as target feeding).

I have also tried Peppermint Shrimps with very good results, only that my Boxer Shrimp killed him the other day.

I have a feeling that kalk would produce the same result as aptasia x. I feel like im battling hydra. Kill the ones i get to more pop up next to it and other spots.

you may not ( And a bunch of people may not believe this ) I've had the best luck with Large Angels. My French Adult, My Blue Face Adult, and my Emperor adult. 3 Different tanks they have literally cleared out a 350 gallon and 2 175 gallon tanks multiple times in as little as a week. That's why I asked size and type of tank display you have, to make sure you could keep any of these choices. Give it a try, worse case is you have some beautiful new fish !!!!!
