I was told a few days ago I could try to use a syringe and lemon juice to rid my tank of a few aptaisa pests. It this true? Does this method work? Will it harm the water parameters/ fish? How should I go about doing it?

I make a slurry mix of kalk (Ca hydroxide ) just use enough that it wont raise ur Ca level too much and inject em kills almost instantly works good on unwanted mushrooms too. I only have one big aiptasia left that retreats into the rock when I get near him with the needle, hes a quick lil bugger. Good luck mate !

With anything you add, depends how much you add compared to your water volume. I've heard a lot of guys using lemon juice. I stick to aiptasia x. Will try some lemon juice in the future.

I 'm going to attempt to do the lemon juice this weekend prior to my Weekly WC and see if that helps if not I will just pick up some Aptasia x

I've never really had much luck using aiptasia X or any product like it. I've had the best luck using Peppermint Shrimp, Aiptasia Eating File Fish, Klein's Butterflies and of course Copper Bands. The downside of the fish is that they are typically not reef safe. Out of all of them I've had the best luck with Klein's not eating all my coral. I had the worst luck with the Aiptasia Eating File Fish eating my coral.

boiling hot water has worked better for me than lemon juice. They just seem to spew babies with lemon juice. I even tried in a bucket once. I find bringing a wood cutting board and a boiling pot of water works ok. peppermint shrimp to clean up little ones. but territorial fish keep mine on one side of my tank. 40 babies are much worse than 1 aptasia so be careful.

I inject any Aptasias I see with Tropic Marin Elimi-Aiptas directly into the stalk as opposed to to the mouth. I find that the product has a better kill rate when injected into the stalk.

Tried the lemon juice, didn't work for me. Also tried aptasia x..no good - If possible I remove the rock out of the tank and shoot those lil boogers with boiling hot water.

I havent tried lemon juice, but have hear that it works. I use kalk mixed into a paste. will nuke just about anything, aiptasia, mushroom, acros, whatever. be sure to try to get it into their mouth, so they cannot replicate. Beghia nudibranch will work as well, but are slightly difficult to obtain and a bit $$. but they can get to all the spots your hand could never reach.

I hear the Plasmarazz will take care of it! Ha.

The lemon juice worked for me. I first tried the boiling water. They would disappear for a few days then come back. Used the Lemon juice and haven't seen them any more.
