Is this aptasia? These little guys are super clear - I got a big rock with a bunch of stuff on it including a brain - unfortunately I just noticed these two guys...

Those are rock anenome's. At least that is what I call them. They have an actual skeleton and stuff to them that is in the rock.

I would kalk them to make sure they don't spread. They don't spread or grow fast, but they will grow and spread a little if let be. They will sting SPS/LPS, so it is better to keep them in check now.

I didn't see the skeleton until you mentioned it. There is a dead one next to it.

The skeleton thing is blowing my oxy soaked/sleep deprived dome!!, glass/ball/strawberry nems dont have calcified base, is that a hard coral?, or a glass nem in a old hard coral polyp?

it is some form of Non photosynthetic lps. i have them all over my rocks from florida. They dont spread and arent a nuisance that ive found so far. theyve been in my tank for about a year now.

Not to hijack this thread but what is the best way to kill aptasia. I've tried peppermint shrimp and a copperband butterfly. Would joes juice work?

I'm going to try aptasia-x if available locally, otherwise lemon juice . Then plug the hole with reef epoxy

Like the lemon juice in the small bottles shape like a lemon? The lemon juice will not hurt my coral or fish?

From what. Read in small quantity (less than 5 at a time) no, there is a ph concern so keep it reasonable do the tank can recover. I am doing a temporary quarAnteen because I have a spare tank and I want to shake the rock off before I put it back

I've had good luck with Aptasia X

So have I, but buy the big bottle, because 90% of the time what happens is that you disturb them slightly (which causes them to release their medusa or whatever) and then you go from having scattered big ones...to ones all over the place. The only thing that has ever worked for me in irradiating aptasia is peppermint shrimp. I bought 4 for my 75g which was INFESTED. I was doing aptasia x once every other week and they were just growing back. It came to the point were I was using aptasia x like it was napalm or agent orange...just covering my rocks...didnt work. Peppermints have all of my aptasia gone after only a couple months. Just make sure you get the real peppermints and not something that closely resembles them. On a side note, after eating all of my aptasias the peps moved onto my acan colony, and took it down in about a week. I know that it was them because I saw them picking at it multiple nights in a row. Also remember that they eat anemones...so dont plan on keeping one if you have peps because they will harass it to death most likely.

To not jack the thread, I really dont know what those things are.
