Its those 3 tiny lines inbetween the 3 heads my zoas are unhappy because its been irritating them theyre usually wide open early in the morning until it pops out and stings them

Dipping wont kill aptasia, id just get aptasia x or use a gel superglue like the brs or gorilla glue to smother the aptasia.
Would you recommend taking the frag out and using the glue worried about the glue not working if the plug is wet plus the palytoxin lol

If you are worried of palytoxin just wear gloves, i wouldnt worry about It unless you have a cut on your hand or something. Id take the plug near the surface so you can see the aptasia under the water. You can use superglue underwater and it works fine. Id just be careful not to get water into the bottle. Just dont relieve the pressure underwater. Or just order some aptasia x. They should not really multiply in the next few days that much

Just adding to the conco with a question.

When he moves the frag up to the service is there a chance it could drop its babies and seed the rest of the tank? Or did I misunderstand an aptadia thread

What i might do is just get some brs thick super glue and go into the tank and put a bead of glue right on top of it after it hides in its hole

Would love to give an update but brs and marine depot both havent shipped yet been 3 days weird

Take that frag out of your tank asap. Like yesterday. Then simply remove the zoa from the pest ridden plug. Use a brush, baster, tweezers or scalpel tool to remove any pests from the coral flesh if you see any. (If you have dip use it, if not get some for next time).
Re-glue the clean zoa onto a new clean plug.

Takes only a few mins and is extremely effective.

This method works wonders. Aiptasia free over here and always have been. The biggest secret is keeping the pests from ever entering the display to begin with. Good luck. :-)

Thanks a bunch how do you remove them from the plug kinda new to this, tanks been up for almost 4 months now dont wanna have an aptasia reef tank lol

Here's the problem here. Aiptasia is easy to kill with an insulin needle and vinegar(vinegar is easier to work with and just as effective as kalk paste or aiptasia X)....but...if they are that close to the zoas there's a good chance you'll nip the zoa and kill them. Been there...done that.

Try the super glue.

Reef safe glue and if that doesn't work and they start to spread like wildfire the aptasia X peppermint shrimp combo is really effective (in personal experience)

Thats what im worried about id rather just cover up the aptasia or just remove the zoa and put it on a new plug entirely if i can not sure how to yet though
