Need help guys I'm getting alot of aptisia in my tank what is the best way to get rid of them and what eats them to keep them at bay

How many do you have? If it is under 20, I'd recommend you attack them manually rather than using an animal to do it. You can use Aiptasia-X, kalk paste, and many other things. If you are going to add a peppermint shrimp, you should quarantine it for 76 days before putting it in your tank. That way you know you aren't introducing ich or velvet into your system.

Berghia nudibranchs. I've tried everything else through the years and other predators did nothing and using specific treatments ended up causing them to spread more.

If you do go the peppermint shrimp route make sure it's a true peppermint shrimp (sometimes LFS sell them as such, but they're really not true peppermints) or else they won't really help out.

I agree with the AiptasiaX I just used it to take out about eight in my tank. I have used it before and it works well. Make sure you read the instructions and turn off all of your powerheads and blowers.

Tried everything else, got a matted filefish and aptasia are gone, and if you pops up its gone:)

I've heard they can be hit or miss. I'm planning to try one in my tank though. I'm at the point of desperation.

Make sure it is a Matted filefish read down in the explanation, another name for them are aptasia eating filefish. I have not had an issue with coral nipping, I feed frozen and that supplements an aptasia free tank. If is also a really cool fish to have in the system. They also eat nori;). When I tried the other methods I only spread the aptasia. I had aptasia all over the tank and I was pretty frustrated before getting the matted filefish. It will take two weeks or so, but you will see results.

I can't add Peppermint or Nudibranches because of my Wrasse so I use Aptasia-X. I know I won't get rid of them this way, but as soon as I see one I take care of it so it doesn't get out of control.

Why do you think you can't get rid of them with Aiptasia X? You most certainly can eradicate them with persistence and Aiptasia X :)

Because it's been an ongoing battle with them since I started the tank a little over a year ago. When I think I got them all and there's no sign of them, they come back.
I probably could eradicate my tank of them but there are some that are just out of the reach for me to get all of it with Aptasia-X, and if you don't get it all it will grow back. I'm sure there are some that are hidden that I can't get to as well. I feel the Aptasia-X keeps them from infesting my tank. I just have to deal with a few here and there.

I've had great success with peppermint shrimp. I believe it's important to get an "army" of them. One or two probably won't do it.

I had 4 peppermints, in a 14g, they never touched a single aip but did eat a load of acans and other lps, they do work for some people but for others they can be an absolute nightmare.

The matted filefish and/or the Berghias worked for me. Could have been one or both because I added them at around the same time. BTW, the filefish became one of my favorites.
