Aqamai kps/Hydor app issues

It doesn't connect to your Wifi.

Once it is all set up then you need to go to the WiFi settings in your phone and connect directly to the pump (it will be called something like Aqamai_KPS_ followed by the address). This will disconnect you from any other network (i.e. your home Wifi); it is a pain but that's how it works.

Are you doing that?

Yup, no luck. It seems to be stuck to my old Wi-Fi network, and I can’t get it to update. It connects to the pump’s Wi-Fi, but I basically can’t do anything with it. Only see that it’s there.

What do you mean by 'stuck to your old WiFi network'?

Go into the Hydor app and get to the manage devices page. Then go back to the wifi settings on your phone and connect to the pump. Go back to the app and it should work.

If it doesn't, go back to the wifi page on your phone and see what it is connected to. If it has gone back to your home wifi then you will temporarily need to disable 'Auto-Join', to prevent it disconnecting from the pump and re-connecting to your home wifi, until you tell it to.

I've just checked mine and it still works.

Yeah, it’s a weird thing. I noticed if I hit “Demo” it still says “Not connected to “old Wi-Fi network””, even after multiple factory resets. And I am definitely connected directly to the pump. I can see the mode it’s in, and that’s it’s on, but if I try to change anything it just stops me in my tracks.

I’m at a total loss. This is so annoying. Appreciate your trying to assist.

If my app is open, connected to my HOME wifi, and my pump is shown on the manage devices screen, and I click 'demo' I get the error 'you are not connected to Aqamai_KPS_ (address)'

Is that what you are getting or does it specifically say 'old wifi network'.

When you get that error and you switch to the Wifi settings page on your phone, is it still connected to the pump?

The latter, and yes. It’s so frustrating haha

And the phone is still connected to the pump after you receive that error?

If so, I'm out of ideas.

It is, indeed. Appreciate the effort. Think it’s just a super buggy app. Here’s hoping I never need to change the current settings

I hate to me 'that man' but I can only say it works for me (it is not the best connection method at all, but I can get it to work).

Screenshots might help of your process, but if it is indeed connected to the wifi network 'Aqamai_KPS_(address)' throughout, then I can't think what else it could be at the moment.

I have no idea what to do here. I can see the WiFi network the KPS puts out, and connect to it, but nothing in the HYDOR app works. I can’t connect it. Anyone figure this out?
Make sure your locations and permissions are granted. Mine would not connect until I did so. Good luck.

Thanks, but I tried nearly everything. I’ve accepted all requests, reinstalled and uninstalled a ton of times, and more. No luck.

I had to jack with the Hydor app settings to finally get my pump to work. The locations services is what my Hangup was. What I do periodically is load up my device apps so they don’t self logout.

Man, wish I could say the same. I've tried accepting location services every way possible, many many times. No luck at all.

The most frustrating thing, I think, is that it doesn't ever seem to truly "factory" reset. Holding the button for 10 seconds just seems to reboot it. I can see the KPS in there (sometimes) from my old login, but when I select "Demo", specifically, it says I'm "Not connected to Fios-DFFEW" which is an old network I don't use anymore.

Very annoying :/

And no response from the Hydros tech folks for weeks now.

Are there any Hydor tech folks? The company has ceased trading.

Have you tried renaming your current network to where the pump recognizes it.

Interesting idea. I'll give it a shot. Shouldn't mess anything up. I'll just change it back to it's current name and everything should reconnect.

I cant even set up the account fir the app; invalid privacy acceptance even though i checked the box; good thing this happened before i bought the item;
