hyaqua5__45492.1510170011.650.650.jpeg Hello reefers,

I have been using the Aqamai LRM for a few months, i have see some nice growth out of some of my LPS and Flower pot coral and my Softies. I am using one of the stock settings. (the LPS setting I think) but i cut the time back to about 7 hours. Really what im looking for is light schedules or any other advice with these lights. Not much i have found on them yet, and when I talked to the Hydor People at RAP they all had no idea, they said we just put it on a few tanks so no data available yet.

from what I've read this light has a max spread of a 36x36 area with a depth of 24 inches max par of 150 with an average par of 75. Good spectrum output gives the blue and near uv spectrum. Looks to be really great light for soft and lps tank. Dont know that I'd try any sps with it though unless you mounted it lower in a smaller area. As far as schedule goes, id stick with 8 to 10 hour cycles and as with any lighting start low and slowly ramp it up over the course of several weeks. If you notice your corals starting to respond negatively turn it back and keep it there. Found more info here.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!

I’m a meter guy. It’s easy and fast. (More accurate than a Red Sea mag test).

I’d test the intensity at the top of the tank as you have it now.

Then set the light to 100% and see what you get.

You can use the meter to set a peak intensity 4-8 hrs , and then set a longer viewing time at lower intensity. (Mine is close to 13hrs)

The par at the top of my sps dom tank w calms on the sand is 550 for 5 hour peak. It’s a linear ramp up and down from there.

For a mixed reef I’d suggest 300 par at the top for 4-6 hrs.

Thanks everyone, I have been running the lights at about 55% ish, 4 hrs of highest intensity and a long sunrise and set for more viewing. Had a minor Algae issue, bumped the lights back a few hours a day and cut back on reef roids and it all subsided, think i found the sweet spot. Not planing to try SPS any time soon, and my tank is not as stable as i would like it to be to even attempt SPS Thanks for all the tips and welcomes everyone.

Here is a few pics i have on my phone. I can grab some full shots and top down shots later if you would like. But this is my Sunrise and Sunset colors and Mid day Lights.
