Welcome to R2R!
Here’s my discus breeding pair! They are a beautiful freshwater fish but require some special care (high temps, low nutrients, low ph, co2 injected, lots of aeration/gas exchange, feeding)
PM me if you need any help/advice! Also try posting in www.simplydiscus.com This is a Reefing forum and not everyone here is familiar with discus fish.
Good luck!!
Nice Tank !!! , reminds me of a time years ago when I had 10 breeding pairs and grow out tanks . Are you also breeding L046 zebra pleco’s ( Hypancistrus zebra) ??? Same water spec and parameters and quite expensive . Back in the day the babies would go for between 600 - 1000 bucks each . Ah but the panda discus that I got off of jack W. We’re the best . Can’t find them anymore as the name is still out there but it’s not the same fish . I actually had one of Gan’s true vertical striped but it was sterile from being doped when it was young to bring out its colors prematurely . Sorry I got carried away , good memories !! :smiling-face-with-sunglasses:

10 breeding pairs!? Oh man, that sounds awesome! It’s fun watching their behavior when breeding. I never bred pleco’s, I had one in the tank and it didn’t do well. Discus first. Do you still have a discus set up?

Not anymore it’s been a while . Still have the knowledge and memories. Do they still have N.A.D.S. North American discus society ? Great symposiums.

Welcome to the R2R community! I have a 90 gallon Discus set myself.

Nice!!! the pigeon bloods , the yellow, looks like scribbled , Marlboro reds, turquoise, and not sure about the two in the middle that look like a pale burgundy with black rim . But yes very nice set up . Haven’t had them since around 2004 but still enjoy seeing them . The Ivey you have in the back I used to have them rooting down into all my tanks . If you trim the roots as they grow into the tank they will sprout and spread out like a bush all the way to the bottom. cool stuff thanks for sharing .
