Hey guys so I've got a wet dry on my 40 gallon breeder and I am just not having good luck with it. So I was wondering if I could switch out my wet dry for 2 Aqua clear 110s and if this would be enough filtration for my reef tank? I have
2 clownfish
2 Banggai cardinals
2 shrimps

So it's not stocked at all really. Maybe I'd add one more yellow tang but that's about it. So what do you all think? And my wet dry is a little loud with the overflow setup I have. I used to run the 40 b with a aqua clear 70 with two clownfish and had no problems until I stopped doing water changes lol....

Thanks guys/gals!

Could remove the bio balls and add a skimmer instead...

I see the tang police coming to take your aquarium card if you put a yellow tang in there! Lol

Oh I have a skimmer by hydor. It does good and I have seachem matrix and bio balls and the Marineland ceramic media but the wet dry just isn't cutting it. I don't think it's keeping the ceramic media wet enough for bacterias. Why would they take my aquarium card? Lol

I wouldn't think you would need the bio balls if your running a skimmer. Maybe look into a turf scrubber. Or possibly start a vinegar dosing regiment.

Tang police will say a 40 breeder is too small for tangs.

Pygmy angel like a potters might be a good fit. There cool! Idk. Just a thought.

I mean the 40 b definitely isn't a tank for life but I have a freind down the street with a 150. So I'm sure he wouldn't mind adding a yellow rang to his system haha but thanks I'll look into those options

Yea a potters angel would be pretty sick actually. Or a lemon peel that would give me that yellow tang flare. I might do that instead actually good idea!

Read this link it may help you in choosing a angel. Lemon peals are kinda evil.
