Aqua Euro Chiller doing pretty much zero

Hi all,

I just installed an Aqua Euro 1/4 HP chiller to my Waterbox 5526. Its rated up to 150 gal. which about where my total water volume is.

I set the temp. on the chiller at 78 and it starts working.

The water in my tank stays at at 81.7. Hasn't gone down with the chiller running. It runs and runs all day, doesn't shut down, and the temp doesn't move. Ive checked the water temp with a thermometer to see if it reads differently from my Apex. Nope.

My house is at 74 degrees.

Bought it brand new. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

doesn't sound like it's working to me. Here's a bump. I've never actually used a chiller.

did you or can you test it in a bucket? set temp to like 70 and run in the bucket.. if doesnt cool the bucket quickly with chiller that size call place bought from. sounds like defective unit unless a setting is wrong

It's probably not working,

I used to have a drop-in in a hot apartment and it used to knock it down 2 degrees relatively quick.

I agree. Should cool down a degree or two in 10-20 minutes. Probably not working.

Adding to the not working chorus …. my 3/4HP chiller will drop 700 gallons by almost two degrees in an hour. Do you hear the compressor engaging or is it just the fan that is running?
