aqua-euro Max Chill Models added thermostat?

It looks like there is a 2 degree slack between on and off. Set it for 77 it turns on at 75. My heater is on a thermostat. I can choose the difference and program in a wait time before it kicks on. The chiller readout almost feels random when I check it against my heater, Seneye, and the thermometer in tank.

Is it going to put early wear on the chiller if I plug it into a thermostat? Just shut it off completely and have it fire up when my tank is hot, triggered by the external thermostat? That would let me control it within .3 degrees?

I am always worried that it is doing battle with my heater and there is a one degree crossover.

That's the way I'd set it up, ie both the heater and chiller being controller by the same device.
