I am currently using Randy’s home made three part system of CAL,ALK,MAG recipe and it’s been working great. I would like to add trace elements into these three mixtures and looks like aqua forest would be a good solution but what would be the best way to add these to the premade 1gallon mixture?

I would suggest looking at Aquaforest's 1+2+3+ that has the trace elements in the recipe.

Which trace are you trying to add ?

Oke so I would not recommend component strong is this case.

What i would recommend is aquaforest MicroE and just start using half dose.

Second : What salt are you using and what is the salinity you mix it at? Keep your reeftank parameters as closely as you can to the levels that are on your synthetic salt packaging.

Third: In order to maintain stability I would recommend to use a "method" Because then you can safely dose ALL micro and trace elements safely by actual consumption and keep them up. Once youve got it up its allmost set and forget.

The reason to use kh+ ca+ and mg+ is just to quickly get your levels up and then... you need to stabalise using the method.

Happy reefing

The methods : All for reef(tropic marine) --> everything in one jar and powder

Component 1+ 2+ 3+ ( same thing as all for reef, u only dose in 3 parts instead of one and liquid) and also everything in equal amounts.

To save more money you can make your own component 1+ 2+ 3+ btw

Which version of Randy's recipes are you using?

The amount of Comp Strong you add depends on the recipe
