I'm just starting my first tank Red Sea reefer 250 (65 gallons). I bought 2 aqua illumination hydra 26. And I was wondering how much of each color I should be running. I was also wondering how long should I run them and how long should they ramp of for. Thanks

I have my AI's running almost 13 hours with ramp time. You will find alot that say they suck but will find many that love them

I personally love my AI Vega and Fifty Two

Here are my settings

This seems to be working great for me...
4 Hydra 26's on a 5 foot by 30" tank
4 hour ramp up, 4 hour peak, 4 hour ramp down
( a lot of 4's I know)
These are the channel settings

Growth, polyp extension and aesthetics all great. And I used some kind of online calculator at one point and those settings were roughly equivalent to 20,000k halide.

Hello AI owners
I'm the proud owner 2 hydra 52!here's the scenario, just recently purchased the AI module for the Neptune systems. At the time of purchasing it I read that they are compatible with the hydra 52
Having a difficult time installing it I did some research and found out it is not compatible with the hydra 52 HD series which i own
In my attempts to try to take it back to Marine Depot there is an open box policy, the same thing goes with Neptunes I am now stuck with the useless controller, I am willing to sell it $100 that's $30 off..

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you're going for a "0-10ft form the surface look" then most of the colors would be up higher. If you're going for deeper ocean look, then keep the blues and violets up and put the others a little lower. Just a thought.

What lights are more important to corals? Can I turn some colors up with no issues? Are thief other colors have to be more "picky" about?
