Yall I just installed this. This skimmer is making me so nervous. I know it’s new… I know it has breaking time. I have never had a skimmer I couldn’t adjust without it overflowing though. If I take this cup out to empty it, it over flows.

Does it look like it’s installed correctly

I like the vent. I bought mine second hand, and while it works great, the "o" ring for the cup is worn. Instead of buying a new one, I hot glued a toothpick to keep the cup at the height I want.

Ok thank you guys. I’ll try these things. I followed a video to install and it never mentioned that screw
I will find an adjustment for the air intake. That would definitely help. The bubbles are the least of my worries right now. I can’t walk away from this thing

hopefully you didn't lose it

when did you install it?

If you have any tubing, you can attach a tube to the skimmer outlet tube, just let the foam overflow into a bucket. Just let it run, it should stop doing that within a day or two at the most.

Ok NOW that I have that fixed ( thank yall so much ).
What are we doing for these bubbles aside from waiting through break in? I feel like break in isn’t going to help with the way this looks like it’s coming out. Also I may have this installed wrong as well ‍♀️
Also what is the point of that large screw at the top?

it keeps the cup in the hole tight, so it doesn't pop out

You can run it in vinegar and salt water for 24+ hrs to break it in. I have the in sump version and my directions tell you to do this. It worked very well.

I had one of those it did a really good job but i replaced it with a algae scrubber which is far superior
