I have had my My Aqua Maxx Hob 1 skimmer for a little over a month now and have been really happy with it until this weekend. This thing started producing micro bubbles. Up until now the water has been crystal clear. I did notice it started right after I had to re-glue/ re putty some corals that got knocked over. Could this be the problem and if so, I am assuming it will go away. Any advice is appreciated.

Hmm did any thing change as far as how the water leaves themskimmer or enters the tank water column?

Hey Rev, No still same enter and exit. I do have a piece of filter pad underneath the return to cut down on water reentry bubbles and I did change it out to a new piece. it all started right after that but i have tweaked it and tweaked to try and get it to stop w/ no luck.

I owned a CPR skimmer that did the same thing and what I did was take a fine mash chemical sock and cut it down to fit the end of the return like a lantern mantel so the inch or so of the end can bulge. A heavy duty rubber band will hold it in place. It get's dirty over time but easy to clean.

I have the same skimmer and there isn't a way to dial it in. You only adjust the built-in skimmer cup. I would check your air inlet venturi I have to clean mine every month because it gets calcified *clogged*. This can change the water level and pump out micro-bubbles into your display.

There are some chemicals that will make skimmers do bad things.
Might want to try some carbon.
