Hi I've just bought this and finally cleaned and put it back together as it was in a barn for months. Is the motor supposed to just hang there as in pics or be fixed to tank??

The pipe that connecting pump to skimmer body can be push in or pull out according to your placement of skimmer.
If that skimmer is put down on flat surface then push in that pipe so pump is also leveled on that flat surface. Option is when you sorta hanging the skimmer on the baffle (bottom skimmer is not on flat on sump), then pull out pipe so that pump can sit on flat surface.
