Okay, I have posted another thread on this to try solve it and have spent the entire day on it and not a single step closer to an acceptable level.
I purchased one of these reef systems over the weekend. Plug and play type approach (not my reason for purchase but was handy to have).
I have three main issues which are preventing me from even starting this project.
1. I've basically installed a waterfall in my lounge. No matter what I do, I hear nothing but splashing water at 65 decibels. Don't start me on the pump is too big or small it's all one branded product sold as a kit.
2. The vibrations from the return pump will send you crazy within a week. That may be easier to solve but for the second night running for the sake of my marriage i'll be turning off this system.
3. The G216 skimmer, the pump sits lower than the canister leaving the bloody thing floating around in the sump, each time it bangs the side the waste cup falls off. I'm so far away from worrying about this issue that I've taken the dam skimmer out of the sump and will worry about that at a later point in time if I get the rest of the system to work quieter than it appears it does.
So far nothing short of a waste of money.
If anyone has any experience in these systems who knows how to solve it please let me know otherwise avoid avoid avoid.
