Aqua SD - Not your average reef shop...

I know it will get moved but oh well...

I just wanted to say that I had the privilege of meeting Will and seeing his shop first hand this past week and WOW :tongue:
Will was more than friendly and helpful, even though he and his crew had a ton of work to do and boxes to pack up. The store was clean...no algae in tanks and no sick or dead fish hanging around...everything from the $20 frag section to the "Ask for price" section was healthy, colorful, and ready to find a new home.

Aqua SD was on the top of my list of places to visit in SoCal and they surpassed my expectations. I picked up some leopard wrasses for a friend and a couple of oddball corals for myself. Will was happy to feed the leopards for me to show their health and hardiness (hard to find with leopard wrasses). The fish and corals came in today...the box was very well packed...no leaky bags...polyps opened up within minutes and the fish were out and eating within the hour.

The only thing that gets me about "ask for pricing" is it feels like if you are not in the "in crowd" or know them your price will be different than someone else. I know this is part of the industry now in some LFS. I just don't even bother asking on pricing when I stop into to a place I don't frequent regularly and they have a section that is not marked price wise. In all honesty, it is a turn off to me, but, to each his own and I get that is just part of the hobby these days.

Thanks for the clarification and I totally respect your guys stuff...its just a pet peeve of mine overall. There are some stores I have walked into where there are 30-50 corals like this and when you ask you can tell they are just throwing out a number.

I will vouch for ASD.... I have been dealing with Will and his crew for years now. He has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff and Will and his wife Alicia are great people. It is pretty crazy how many high end collector corals that he has all in one place. He has anything from small frags to full on colonies that you do not see anywhere else. You can lost in there for hours....Ask my wife!!!! LOL.... Next to being a business man, he is a true hobbiest and has great deals on high end collector pieces. Great place to go for what every you are looking for.

I love aqua sd will and his crew are great! I havnt been to the shop only over the phone I bought a lot of coral and fish and one was a doa when I got it called will before the shop was open and he took care of it right away . Thanks Will and Nick for your great services and awesome selections !

I envy you. If i lived closer to Aqua SD, i would definetly purchase more corals from him.

I love seeing all of his coral updates in Reef2Reef.
