Got my frag about a month ago and although I am not much of a iPhone photographer, took this just before going out of town because when I get home , you never know what to expect upon return from a trip

My small little frag.

I used to have a colony of this years ago before it had a name. Where is the best place to get a decent sized frag of this?

i got a nice size frag from asd in december or january. however i knocked rocks onto it twice and ended up having to make some frags of the frag. the original frag was reduced to about 1/2" and this is how it looks now at the end of july. i use a custom led mix and measured par at the spot this is at using a standard par meter (which probably isn't accurate) and it read between 200-220 around the piece. my led dimmers are less than 1/2 intensity and i use no optics.

Great job on the colors Ben! Mine's mostly orange at the moment.

I got to see this colony In person at ASD
when he first got It, and the
pic Is accurate. It was such a stunning colony I couldn't believe it.

Here's my little frag. Picked it up from ASD during my last trip to San Diego.

Sorry for your loss, Reefer!!

What a beautiful piece, I will have to ad to my want list

Mine has some strange tissue recession going. It seems to be VERY slow, and the rest of the frag is hairy and happy and has good color. I am on the fence, may try moving it to higher/lower light. What do people think? All other SPS are happy. The recession started during a Dynoflagellate bloom a month or so ago which is now gone. The recession doesn't seem to have stopped though.

What do you think, a dip of some sort? try a new spot? I dont want to just watch this thing slowly recede over weeks and weeks...

Terrible pic but you can see the recession:

I welcome any advise, both on stopping the recession and on how much light/flow you are giving yours.

I have never had any luck stopping once it starts. Anymore I just frag a good piece with no recession showing and hope for the best.

I am considering supergluing over the recession areas and seeing if that stops it. Thoughts?
Fragging a good piece sounds like it might be the best option though.

a better pic of the recession

I have tried the super glue over area and have had luck with it. I say give it a try and keep a close eye on it and if it starts to show any more recession, frag it!

I usually frag off all dead tissue . Then if big enough make a back up frag just in case. I have never tried the super glue. I am gonna have to try it.
