Hey reefers I have the aqua ultraviolet 40 watt what flow rate would be to help with water clarity and help with algae? High flow or lower?

Here is a web site that lists watts, and flow for algae or parasites.

In our experience we run a lower flow rate on this UV for best results. We are running 350-450gph

I see on Aqua's website that the recommended minimum flow is almost 1,000 GPH for the 40 Watt classic. You guys always run yours so far below that? Or only if treating for ich or something?

In our experience their numbers are incorrect.

i have one 40watt running at 950 gph (about 160 gallon system ) and another at i think 2800 gph (i dont have a flow meter on it but with a bucket test thats about what its set for... my bigger thanks are 300s and they have dual 80 watterss at 1200 gph and i think like 3500, I love the combo of UV + big skimmer +ozone dont worry we have solar and alot of panels so we dont really worry about he watts.
