Will be adding a UV Sterilizer to the DT. What are your thoughts and feedback on this particular unit? Who has the best online price? TIA "Aqua Ultraviolet 25 Watt A00023 - Classic - 3/4-in. Inlet/Outlet"

How big is your tank? I have a 47 watt pentair on my 110, and given their efficiency, I think that's about the right size. I'm a big fan of the pentair brand after accidentally gluing the wrong fitting and being able to easily ordering new parts (support was awesome and based in the states).

Whatever you do, plan to be able to remove it easily with good isolating ball valves. Don't cheap out here as regular maintenance is key to actually getting anything useful out of them.

Custom 90 gallon with 30 gallon sump. With the expectation of adding one I built in a manifold for the UV and reactor. What area of the sump to you send the water back?

I have a big sicce pro pump that sends water through a manifold and then back two 3/4" lines back to the tank. I feed the uv and chiller off one line of the manifold and a carbon filter. The carbon filter returns to the sump but the UV goes straight to the tank. There is another line that goes directly to the tank from the pump for most of the flow. The problem with uv is you need low flow, so you basically have to have two returns or a separate pump. I didn't want to run two pumps so I got one big one. But I wanted to capture that return from the uv to the tank as return flow instead of recycling though the sump. The pentair model is huge, so it has to sit behind the tank (4 feet long and like 6 inch diameter). I have check valves and two union ball valves on the uv so I can remove it. I clean the quartz tube every six months or so as it does get calcium carbonate build up from the heat of the lamp. I just plumbed a chiller off the uv line, which isn't ideal as one wants more flow than the other, but it worked out as I already did the hard work for the uv plumbing.

Thanks for the info. That thing is HUGE, hence my option to go with the Aqua unit. Mine most stay within the stand. I've added ball values to the manifold to adjust flow too. Like you, over-sized motor because of the this.
