I need some help with some information, can someone who has the Aqua Ultraviolet 80W 2 lamp power cord tell me the specs on it? I can’t find it anywhere and quite frankly I’m not spending almost $250 on just the power cord alone. That being said can someone tell me is it 12v or 24v? Is it AC or DC? Any info helps thanks

That is not a "transformer" it is a ballast. It will need to be matched to the specific lamps. DIY or mix and match is not an option unless you know what you are doing and understand the lamp specs.

@PaulErik may be able to help - but this is not your typical DIY project.

My family owns a large electrical company, everywhere online said “transformer” so that’s what we were going off of. Like I said any info helps honestly

It is a core and coil ballast. The lamps are fluorescent and require a high start voltage and then limited run voltage. Trying an Advance PureVolt or Atlantic SureLite with similar wattage to the lamps may work, but without full specs and some research it is a crap shoot that will either end up killing the lamp by under driving it or over driving it. Catastrophic failure is also possible in some cases.

These are not really a transformer but a fluorescent ballast that limits current within a certain lamp voltage. That transformer just contains a private label instant start electronic fluorescent ballast. The only other major brand ballast that can be a direct replacement is the Fulham electronic ballasts. Aqua UV does sell bare replacement transformers (ballasts).

Using other brand/type ballasts typically requires rewiring of the sockets for that unit. The Aqua UV 40W bulbs are standard output 425ma. The ballast has to provide the correct output current at the designed operating voltage of the bulb. You can not simply match wattages.
