So, I'm torn on which UV to get for my 120g. I've narrowed it down to the 25w version of:
Aqua Ultraviolet Classic 25w
Lifegard Pro-Max 25w
Which would you choose and why?
Thanks!

Are you doing it for disease or algae? disease I would want a larger AquaUV, for algae quality seems less important to me.

Mostly algae/diatoms/bacterial issues. Water clarity. I’m not much of a fish person, so mostly for my coral happiness.

The new lifeguards are pretty cool looking and have features the basic aqua uv don’t. I think.

my new 25w pro max Lifegard just showed up.. I have been trying to decide whether hard pipe or soft tube... hard pipe can look cleaner if done right... but more of a pain in terms of access and removal to clean.

Owning both a aqua uv, and a lifeguard. The build quality on the lifeguards are top notch, the replaceable plastic sleeves on the inside are nice for when the UV eventually degrades the inside wall, parts are easy to get, and the ballast controller is super awesome. The Aqua UV has a much nicer quartz sleeve interface in my opinion, but overall feels way cheaper when you put them side by side.
