Aqua UV low power consumption

I purchased a new aqua uv sterilizer the power consumption is only about 44 watts for the 57watt unit per my apex. I also have 25 watt unit that consumes 25 watts per my Apex. Trying to eliminate dinos and I upgraded. Is this normal or is the unit over rated? Anyone else have the same issue???

UV sterilizer actual vs stated watt draw - Aqua Ultraviolet 57 watt

I just purchased and installed an Aqua Ultraviolet 57 watt compact UV sterilizer and installed it a couple of hours ago. Despite the 57 watt rating it is only drawing 42 watts. That is a big big delta. 55 would be fine. 50 would raise an eyebrow, but 42 is 26% less. Is mine unusual? Do I need...

Hey thanks for the link looks like my experience is not unique. I talked to the company as well they thought my transformer could be bad so I got a new one. Looks like their bulbs are over rated based on those with a similar story. Have to say I feel a little cheated. I actually wanted to get a Pentiar unit but I could not make it fit. Hopefully it will be enough to work.
