Today I treated my wife's Deep Blue Nano Cube today, with the hopes that it would eradicate the planera fw's that have overtaken her tank. I followed the directions exactly as they read. I added new carbon and applied 4 drops of the FW solution, I let the product do it's work for about 20-30 minutes and then began to watch the tank, from what I observed was disappointing. There was about a 60-40 ratio of dead-live worms in the tank, of course the ratio is a simple observation and a guesstimate but I have used Salifert's Flatworm exit in the past and that product kills all FW's in sight withing 10 minutes.
Well, the dead flatworms appear to have been negatively affecting my clownfish, so I began to drain water, as I went along the unaffected worms became more and more lively, almost as if I had done nothing to the tank.
I'm going to apply a second treatment tomorrow but I'm really disappointed that I have to deal with it again.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Never had treat for flatworms myself but have heard it can be difficult to treat. I wonder if the second treatment will do the job. DO you know if the stuff works on the eggs too?

I don't know, I'm not sure what the eggs would look like. I don't think they are as easily found like Acro Eating Flatworm eggs are. I did dose again today and it barely affected the last of the worms, I actually didn't find any worms that were killed by the dose today, but after 5 minutes of the process, both my fish began to breathe heavily, I removed both fish, a goldflake clown and a purple firefish, and moved them to my frag tank. After work I found the firefish dead. I'm super unhappy with the end results of this product.....Salifert Flatworm Exit is definitely a superior product, just wish I had used the Salifert.

I still have to dose fwe twice to get them all

Yea, I recall a second application is typical with FWE but the second application today ended with no dead worms but a dead fish.
