Hi everybody. For the T5 users on the forum i wanted to pose this question. Ive read and heard and chatting thru the years that the aquablue special bulb from ATI can signiciantly accelerate growth in sps. The downside is it gives off an ugly yellow color. I have a 60 inch 8 bulb aTI fixture with the standard 4 blue plus, 2 coral plus, and a purple plus. Debating on the next bulb change to put an aquablue bulb in and take one coral plus out. I use a reefbrite led to supplement the T5s so im thinking there shouldnt be much of a difference color wise but u wont know till u do it :).

Anybdy ever use the aquablue special or thought about using?

Can't be too bad. I run same light and never tried the Aquablue but have tried the GE6500.. It is a little yellow but not as bad as I thought. In the end I chose to keep running 4 B+ 2 C+, P+ and a actinic. I have a BMLed strip also.

I run 5 blue plus 2 coral plus and 1 aqua blue special. I don't notice any yellow with the aqua blue. Nice bright bulb. I am getting great growth and good color with this combo. The ge 6500k bulb now that's yellow. You could switch a coral plus or a purple. Just change them and see which one you like either will give good results.

Old topic but any updates on anyone running aqua blue to accelerate sps growth?
