Aquaclear 20 with intank media basket overflows

So as the title says, I have an aquaclear 20 with an intank media basket running filter pad, chemipure blue and prepackaged purigen. Early this morning I woke up to the tank being emptied slowly because water has been going around the media basket and gets forced on top and between the lid.

I've noticed something like this happening when I first got the media basket but it wasnt an issue at the time. Also I'm recharging my purigen so it's not in the filter but I dont think that would contribute to the problem.

I wanted to post to see if anyone has encounter the same issue and has any fixes, thanks in advance!

It has been a while since I have had an AC 20, but I think I remember that they have the ability to adjust the flow. The water isn't able to easily flow through the items that you mentioned that are in the filter like it would be for a large mesh sponge. You may need to remove some of the media from the filter or turn down the flow rate.

It has been a while since I have had an AC 20, but I think I remember that they have the ability to adjust the flow. The water isn't able to easily flow through the items that you mentioned that are in the filter like it would be for a large mesh sponge. I forgot to mention that I cleaned the entire filter a couple days prior, also it flowed over the top even before I ran that specific media. I've sent an email to intank and hopefully I'll get a response. I doubt it's the flow rate because I've turned it down but the water seems to be slipping between the wall of the filter and the wall of the media basket and thus coming to the top of the basket and running along the edge toward the tank, I'll try to post pictures tomorrow evening.

I'm just brainstorming and trying to visualize your setup without a picture and was wondering about the level of your filter. Is the top of the filter level with the floor or does it slope away from the tank? It should be level to slightly forward. If this tip doesn't help then hopefully we can get it sorted out once you are able to post pictures from a few different angles. Good luck!

I'm just brainstorming and trying to visualize your setup without a picture and was wondering about the level of your filter. Is the top of the filter level with the floor or does it slope away from the tank? It should be level to slightly forward. Right! I have put pieces of egg crate in between the hang on filter and the aquarium glass.There could also be a foot at the bottom that needs rotated towards the tank.

Here are some photos, the filter is tilted toward the tank and the "foot" is turned toward the biggest adjustment. The water is coming up between the outside filter housing and the outside media basket near the output. Not 100% sure how else to explain. I hope pictures helped but it's tough to see. Also lifting the media basket up helps slightly with the pump turned all the way down.

In addition to all of the things that you have tried, you may also want to consider removing some of the low-porous media out of the basket. I think that it may be overfilled with the media that you are using.

Those pictures are good! It looks like it is positioned right.Maybe you just need to move it away from the side so that there is a gap between the out put and the side wall.
