I'm looking at trying aqua craft salt, what is everyone using? Bio-sea? I hat to admit I'm confused a by their website on ordering quantities. You have for 25g, 50g, 150g. Either way it seems you can order 150g worth but at different prices. Not sure why? What does everyone buy?

I'm using the Bio Sea Marinemix and love it. Tried the Marine Environment type also once but went back to the Marinemix. As for the difference in packages .... it is just how they are packaged. You can buy 150 gallons worth .... cheapest if you order it when it comes in one single bag - or you can get it 3 bags (of the 50 gallon mix) or 6 bags (of the 25 gallon mix). I have purchased both the 150 gallon mix in a single bag (cheapest way) and in the box that comes with 3 of the 50 gallon mix bags. For me, the single bag works well since I mix more than 50 gallons worth when I'm doing changes on both my 300 and 90! And I have not had a any problems at all with their salt clumping up or hardening up after opening the bag.

Thanks for the response. I only make up 10 gallons a week, but I still may just get the big bag to save money.

I've been using reef crystals for two years, but I don't mind trying something new. I don't always buy into "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

I understand - and there really wasn't any particular reason I was changing salts when I tried the Bio Sea either. After I was part of the testing that Aqua Craft did here with a group of R2R members, however, I was really impressed with the sample they provided and figured I would give it a shot. I am really glad I did .... it really wasn't broke before but in my opinion, is better now!! Let us know how you like it after a few changes!

First water change done, 10 gallons. So far so good! Mixed up quick and clear with no residue like reef crystals. My SPS look really happy, awesome polyp extension!

And it stays clear and clean even if left for weeks in storage too!

I've been noticing my calcium and magnesium have been really low. I tested new just made water and the levels are very low straight out of the bag. 320 cal/1100 mg. ive only let the water mix about 30 minutes but I don't think that's the issue. I will let it mix another hr or two and retest. A bit disappointed at the moment
