I’ve seen a product by Aquaforest called AF Build, claims to “Speed up the adsorption of calcium and carbon required for building up coral skeleton. Contains: iodides, carbonates, calcium. AF Build maintains correct pH level in aquariums and improves water clarity.” Also claims to “lower the levels of undesirable hair algae and prevents the growth of pathogenic blue-green algae.”

I’m more interested in building up the coral skeleton, for my Monti which suffered from SPS Bubble Diease, after a mistake with my calcium reactor. Monti no longer show any tissue bubbles but the skeleton is very brittle where the bubbles were.

So anyone used it, recommend it or know how it works? Thanks in advance.

What else are you using/ dosing in your system?

I have never used it, but I have tried several of their other products. I am getting ready to try their balling system. I have seen some amazing pics of tanks that claim to use that product.

I’ve used loads of there products on/off over the last few years as well love their salt. Always rate their stuff this one I wanted to try to see if it aid in the repair of the skeletons whilst they recover from the sps bubble Diease I caused few weeks back. Where the bubbles burst the skeleton underneath looks little honeycombed. Just might give additional support. But it also mentions it kills algae which is not a problem but made me wonder what’s in it?

Just a calcium reactor and weekly water changes.
Then all you would use the build and the fish V and straight vitamin C to help the corals

This is a old thread but I have a answer for you. AF build is a PH booster. Only way to make a coral uptake more calcium is to increase PH. And if you read the bottle the ingredients say it has carbonate witch will increase ph I believe.
