Should be what you are comparing with. Unless of course the water box linked comes with the current USA lighting but as far as I'm aware it does not

The comparison between Waterbox and RedSea is pretty extensive in this thread.

With that being said, I just installed Waterbox's Platinum 135 for someone last weekend and I can say from handling the tank/stand/plumbing nothing really jumped out quality wise that would suggest its inferior to Red Sea's reefers. Great looking tank and it sets up just as nicely.

Here are a couple quotes from the thread I linked which break it down.

Actually it's not way cheaper... Waterbox is comparing their tank to a larger Red Sea tank. So naturally the Waterbox tank is cheaper.

Waterbox in the comparison: 47.24” x 23.62” x 20.47” - $1949
Red Sea in the comparison: 59" x 22" x 22.6" - $2599

They should compare it to the 425XL if they want a fair comparison... which is 47" x 22" x 22.6". And guess what price that is?... $1949.

@Broadfield makes an interesting point. Perhaps you can help me/us work this out @Waterbox Aquariums

Red Sea Reefer 425 XL
Dimensions - 47" x 22.6" x 22" (19 inch water height) = 87 gallons adjusted.
Sump volume - 24 gallons (10.6" water height)
Total Volume - 111 gallons

Waterbox 135.4 Platinum
Dimensions - 47.24" x 23.62" x 20.47" (19.09 inch water height) = 92 gallons adjusted.
Sump Volume - Advertised as 33.9 gallons, but if you take the measurements (29.52" x 17.71" x 14.96) and adjust the 14.96 down to Red Sea's 10.6" water height, its actually 24 gallons adjusted.
This seems fair, as I really doubt/question that your aquarium is maintaining a 14" height in its skimmer chamber?
Total Volume - 116 gallons

With this comparison.. the Reefer 425 XL is actually the proper comparison to make, no?

And if that's the case... the Waterbox 135.4 and Reefer 425 XL are the same price.

Correct any mistakes if I overlooked something.

What's your thoughts on the sump?

Always heard the Waterbox ATO system was better then the reefer's. Does it hold more top off water than the reefer's standard sump?

To be honest Freddie it’s really nice but the tank isn’t wet yet. I’ve got to get rock and sand yet. Waiting until after the holiday to get it cycling.

The sump is nice though.

I liked the one I installed a lot. The filter sock design was a lot more accessible compared to the Red Sea and I liked how they built the ATO directly into the design as opposed to the floating style Red Sea used.

I can also recommend Aquaforest stone fix. It seems to be similar in strenght to marco concrete that i've also used in the past(might be wrong though) but it is no doubt much easier to work with and leaves a rock hard surface.
I'm using it right now on a new scape and i'm impressed so far.

Another great thing is the amount you get for such low price.

Have you ever tried to bond live rock together with Aquaforest StoneFix, under water?

I've got one last piece of shelf rock that needs to be nailed down. If the Aquaforest StoneFix is not the right tool for the job, what would you recommend?
