Hi all. I have a 65 gallon mixed reef with fish, zoas and soft corals and lps, an elegance coral and a bubble tip anemone. I have a Deltec HOB skimmer in which I also run carbon and phosphate minus. No sump. Live rock and sand for filtration. A DIY ATI type fixture with 8X39 ATI T5 bulbs. Up to now I have only been adding seachem prime at every water change (10-15% every 2-3 weeks) and aquaforest pro bio S. I also use aquaforest salt, carbon and phosphate minus, so mainly aquaforest products. Although most corals seem happy, my lps are not fully open/growing, some zoas do not open fully and the colors are not really bright. I have been thinking of dosing aquaforest amino mix, aquaforest energy and aquaforest vitality. Has anybody used these, is it a good idea, what kind of success have you had, would you recommend something else?

Hi Eleni18, I just bought the amino mix. Want to see if it helps sps coloring. It looks to be about the most cost efficient amino supplement around at a dose rate of only one drop per 100 litres of water and at least tells you what aminos are in there. Plan to put my skimmer on a timer for a couple of hours off right after lights out and dose the aminos just prior.

Right...because the skimmer has to be off when dosing?

Have a full tank shot? And of the corals in question?

What are your parameters?

What percentage water changes are you doing? Your parameters are higher than aquaforest reef salt. That if your doing large water changes and then dosing to bring back up there maybe large variations in the tank. Alk of fresh aquaforest reef salt is normally around 7.5-8.5 dkh.

I know, I can't bring alk under 11. I do 15-20% every 2 weeks
