When I try to read the final result of my Aquaforest Magnesium test, I'm always confused about what line I'm supposed to read on the plunger. There are two as shown in the photo here. When drawing in the part D, it's clear that you use the bottom line (when looking at the syringe pointing down), but when reading the final results there is not clear indication if you are to read the same line. When tipping the syringe up to read it, it intuitively seems like you should read the bottom black line (as shown in the photo). To further confuse, the instructions say, "Turn the syringe upside down and read the value at the tip of the black piston". What? The difference between these readings is significant. My magnesium is either 1170, 1260 or 1500. AF has a Youtube video showing how to use the test but just says "read the corresponding MG value from the table" at the end. Thanks for any guidance here.

In the orientation of your picture, you use the top of the plunger.

If you used the other part then you wouldn't be able to use the full 1ml in the syringe.

Short answer, bottom toward the tip:)

Question, are you using the tip that is included in the kit?

Yes I am using the extender. I have been using the ring closest to the tip (on top in the photo). The instructions to "Turn the syringe upside down and read the value at the tip of the black piston" gave me pause however.

That is confusing.

Did you have another 1ml regular plunger tipped syringe that you can use?

That’s from another R2R member.
