Hey.
So I'm starting the aquaforest balling method on my tank. I'm mixing the components my self.

There is 3 liquids
1. Alk
2. Ca + MG
3. Mineral salt

And of cause the Component strong.

I can't find any info on how much to use of the Mineral salt.
Like if I'm dosing 20 ml of CA/MG then I need to dose Xml of the salt solution.

Any help ?

I've noticed that I might have made a mistake.
In the recipe for "components 1 2 3" the mg is mixed in with the mineral salt. But on the mg it self it says to mix it in with the ca. Might not make a difference?

The mag. used to be in Comp-1 with the cal.

I only used the pre-mixed jugs and it was an great balling product.
It's the only product that I ever used that leveled out to three even, daily doses per part.

According to the current recipe you mix the Mg in component 3 or with mineral salt. So this will give more flexibility in terms of mixing. Component 1 Ca, Component 2 Alk and Component 3 Mg. Earlier we used to mix it in the component 1 but now we dont.

Okay thanks. So it's just a practical thing to have more control over mg?
So do you think I should make a new batch or stick with it?

I using the original formula. Find it ok. Shall I stick to the original mix where CA and MG is together or shall
I change to revision 2?

As I suggested earlier, finish the old batch and when you mix a new one then follow the new recipe.

I can’t see how it matters much. Many two parts put the magnesium in the calcium part, and if you find you need more, you can manually boost it, and to get less just add less the next time.

I use Aquaforest and yes, it is a mix. You can add additional mineral salt which they carry but enter it via sump at small dose.

Might be a stupid question but will the mineral salt increase salinity?

Yes. So do most calcium, alkalinity and magnesium additives. [emoji3]

It will slightly
