Aquaforest been getting pretty popular these days. Nice to see products that can help make this hobby easier to understand. What makes Probiotic so special? Is they proof it can reduces levels of Nitrates and Phosphates. If so how much you need to change your water weekly? They say you can't use vodka or vinegar with probiotic. But bio pellets is acceptable? I like they fancy boxes of supplements. I like they Macroelements and Microelements. If you start a method. It seems it can get expensive. Like to hear your experience and results of using Aquaforest. It only seems right if Aquaforest comes out with they test kits so you actual know how much stuff your adding.

I'm not sure it is especially popular based the relatively few members that post experiences with it.

They make quite a few products, so it is hard to give a general comment on all of them at once, but IMO, I do not want a salt mix that contains organic matter (such as vitamins, amino acids, and whole bacteria) as that limits the shelf life of the made salt water so you need to use it more rapidly than I usually choose to do.

That said, adding bacteria of various sorts, and organic matter of various sorts has been shown with the products of many companies to be useful in some aquaria, and the Aquaforest products are likely similarly beneficial. :)

I just picked up Iodum. It smells like iodine so did I just paid more money because it came in a fancy box. Also no ingredients listed on box. Suppose to enhance blues and purple color.

Yes, I'm doing an little advertising. I'm trying to see if these products are not just same stuff we been buying.. But coming in a pretty box with expensive bottle without list of ingredients. My question positive or negective for people who are using they product. When I see stuff like this when you need to buy a bundle package so this product works with this. Makes me suspicious and ask question. I think I wasted money on Iodum which smell like Iodine. I don't believe in paying more money for a fancy box to do same thing you can buy. Not listing the ingredients makes me suspicious. So asking a question is advertising for brand.

I'm using Aquaforest production for almost a month now. And for me results are visible: I'm using probiotic bacteria together with Vodka, trying to get rid of vodka and go only with probiotics. And it works. Additionally I'm dosing micro elements and I see increased coloration in corals. Aquaforest products are much cheaper than similar KZ products.

Did use their salt in the past and their 2 component epoxy.

The salt:

When mixing with RODI water it clears up pretty fast. I measured the water for Kh, Mg and Ca and they were pretty spot on as advertised. One thing that was very noticeable for me was that the water in the tank went milky after doing a 20% water change. That cleared up in a day. Me thinks, maybe the bacteria added to this.

All in all it is a cheap salt (at least here im Germany) and I haven't seen any bad impact.
Also a friend of mine who ownes a LFS here uses it all the time. His animals look good, too. No bad impact there either.

The Epoxy:

No this is truely awesome. I never had any epoxy that held things in place so quick. I use it exclusively these days. My Triton test didn't
show any problems with it. But it makes your water milky for a very short time.
The corals have no problem with it at all.
Even when touching the corals tissue with it,
the corals don't bother.
So I can happily recommend that.

The supplements are popular here.
But due to me doing Triton, I don't have any personal experiences with it. But people seem to like their stuff.

Hope that helps.
