ok, so I'm redoing my whole system. Is using the aquaforest system worth it?

There are so many foods and things to add..can everything just be hooked up to a doser?

Also, why does everything need to be added when the lights are off? Does it really matter?

Just looking for opinions from those who have tried or still use it?

Not sure what the aqua forest system is but I assume something like the Triton method. You don’t have to add livestock when lights are off but usually it is done to let them settle in. For example when I added my blue tang, my starry blenny attacked her relentlessly. I left the lights off for 24 hours and the aggression stopped.

Yeah, not livestock. Almost All the foods and additives suggest being added when lights are off.

That’s interesting. I’ve never heard that one before.. all I have heard people say to add at lights off is amino acids.

Keep it simple. I don't use any of these new reefing methods that require me to spend money needlessly. Adding more complexity to reefing adds more failure points. The longer I stay in this hobby the more I try to simplify things and that's actually made me more successful.

Strong flow, good lighting, and stable parameters.

If you want a full balling dosing solution or wish to do a probiotic driven system aquaforest is good. You don't need to add every single thing of them but you choose things which you need. There are a lot more options for customisation. Not everything can be dosed through a doser but yes quite a few things can be. Also, only the foods and amino are needed to be dosed when lights off but for everything else there is no need to do so.

Yes

Yes but you will need a doser the doses drops with a stirrer:)
I have been running AquaForest for almost two years now, and I have found to keep it simple in regards to running my system with products. I now run Reef Salt, 1+2+3+, Mg+,life bio fil, Zeomix, and phosphate minus consistently and carbon every once in awhile.

Also, why does everything need to be added when the lights are off? Does it really matter?
After light out, is the best time to add some of the droplet products because the corals are feeding.

I have run a bunch of different brand products over time and I really like AquaForest after reading and see how systems look using these products overseas. I was turned on to AquaForest just when AquaForest was beginning to sell here in the US. I was looking for a cost effective system that was simple to use. I did experiment with most of the additives. I also found that mixing my own 1+2+3+ balling method is about 2/3rds less the purchasing.
