Who has used it and what do you think of it? This is the non probiotics salt.

I want to try a new salt with a better micro elements profile to IO.

Im thinking of trying the probiotic on my new build seems like all the shops around my area are changing over and seeing a difference in the sps Im not really an sps guy tho but the gf is so we'll see :P

I'm in 2 wks doing approx. 12% water changes a wk. I also dose the ABEV additives/food and my sps that have browned out are starting to flouresce green and the ones that have turn pale are getting their color back. Not much but it looks like slowly but surely.

I just switched to AF components 1,2,3 also 3 days ago so we'll see:cool:

Really just interested in the salt for now, I use Kalk for my ALK/cal

Best salt I've ever used! I've used many other over the years but this one mixes very clean, clear and almost instantly. Can use within 1/2 hr from dry salt to mixed SW. You also get a note when you open the salt of the levels measured at the manufacturer.

Same. Great salt, mixes almost instantly. No residue in container even when left for a while. Ideal parameters for people running lower alk.

My 25Kg box arrived today and just mixed 55 gallons. It was nearly instantly clear, once my temp is right lll be ready for a water change. Hoping it can help lower my ALK/Cal just little as they are a bit higher than I prefer.

The alk in mine run about mid 8. So that should do exactly what you're looking to do. I don't know what you're running it at but remember to slowly reduce your alk.

I switched from RSCP to aquaforest. I've only done a single water change with the new salt, but I think I liked Red Sea better. My colours seemed to be a little more vivid. I've heard great things about aquaforest and it's way too soon to know for sure. Only time will tell!

I don't know if you're tank is predominantly SPS or LPS or mixed. My tank is 75% SPS, 20% LPS 5% soft. I have been using Instant Ocean for the last 5 year and decided to change because of the low mag and calcium. Aquaforest looks like a good alternative due to the higher calcium and magnesium and slightly lower alk. I Have only done 2 water changes. One was 15 gallonsout of full system (85 gal). I did have tissue loss slightly onto akros a strawberry shortcake and another no-name. I probably should have mixed the two salts to slowly acclimate the tank to the new chemistry. Which i would recommend.
The 2nd water change i did a 50-50 Instant Ocean and aqua Forest. That water change was done Friday and now I'm out of town so I don't really know though effects. My wife says everything looks happy

I switched to AF Reef Salt. I was very happy with the first bucket. Levels were all as the test sheet indicated. Second bucket I purchased the Calcium according to the test sheet was supposed to be approximately 420. No matter what section of the bucket I mixed and tested I could not get a Calcium reading above 340! Have talked to others who had similar issues with AF Reef Salt. No consistency from bucket to bucket.

Mostly SPS.

My box i beleive was a 160g box. 1st time mix = 20g @ 1.025 cal 480, mag 1500+, alk 2.39 meq/6.692 dkh.
I personally maintian levels of 1.025 s/g, alk 3.03 meq/8.484 dkh, cal 410-420, mag 1350.
2nd mix 50/50 io and af =25g @ 1.025,alk 2.85 meq/7.98dkh, cal 370, mag 1170.
Some experimenting maybe i can find a happy medium of the 2 mixed.
Also my box didnt come with a print on the levels. And fwiw a buddy got a box for the same pallet and his levels were different then mine mixed to the same s/g. Could be a variance for the way i read the test and he reads the test but there was quit a difference. All test are salifert except refractor for s/g .
Transition slow and good luck

Wow, you can tell your corals responding with one water change? That's prrtty amazing. I'm not knocking RSCP, but am amazed that a dramatic change can happen that fast.
