Hi all!

I mixed 30 Liter RO water with Aquaforest Sea Salt last night and used my API test kits to test the parameters.

What surprised me is that it showed an ammonia level of 0.1ppm-0.25ppm.

Can anyone tell me what happened?

Did you possibly clean your mixing container/bucket and leave some residue behind?

As others have stated, the API ammonia kit is notorious for giving a false positive around .25. Not sure if it's operator error that leads to this or not but it happens quite often. The likelihood of any salt mix containing ammonia is slim.

Hello,
It's not possible to have ammonia in our salts.
Some not accurate tests shows ammonia level but they are using nitrogen from air which is normal because air is full of nitrogen.
