so thinking about a HOB for a 40br reef what would you choose and why?

anything else I should be looking at. trying to keep tank as KISS possible so debating on sump or HOB skimmer.

I have had several HOB skimmers (Not the RO) and hands down the aquamax 1.5 was the best. Some claim they have an issue with micro bubbles. There is a bubble stopper you can buy if you need to. I didn't have a problem with this issue on the 40gl cube. Dead silent and set it and forget it.

Now I am not knocking the RO line I had 110 recirc on a 40gl frag and a SRO 6000 on my 210. They were both excellent skimmers but noisy, didn't matter to me as the frag tank and sump for the 210 was in the basement.

Love the HOB. But had to turn my 2nd return off because the micro bubbles were passing over in to the return of the filter. Unsure if this is faulty or how to fix. Otherwise. Love it.
