Id like to replace my pump on the old style aquamax hob skimmer with the new aquamax pump. First would it fit second is it worth it or should i buy a new hob skimmer. What do you recommend? Thanks

I know I am not helping much but search for replacement part specific for your model. If there is no other option but to buy new then go for a HOB with UV lamp. You can move ur media.

you can try this instead. It's referral code from tidal garden's youtube video.
UV is always good to control algae and bacterial blooms. I am assuming you have a smaller volume tank.

The replacement pump for the Aquamaxx 1.5 will fit the 1.0 see link below. I have the 1.5 for one tank without a sump and its is a good unit. If you are going to add UV spend the money and buy a quality unit such as made by Aquamaxx or Pentair and run it off a separate pump with a sufficient flow rate and wattage for what you are trying to accomplish i.e. algae or parasites.
