Do you think it was oversized for your system?what size tank did go have?

I have a 75 gal with a 30 sump. I do not think it was too big, just temperamental. Could never get it dialed in, then the air inlet tube broke on the silencer trying to adjust it so I just ripped it out.

I would say neither. full-size aquamaxx skimmers are ****... get a reef octo regal or nyos...

I ran a q2 on my old system. 75 gallon DT, 50 gallon frag tank, 40 breeder it was perfect.

I actually have it listed for sale now in the dry goods forum!

I now have a 225 DT, 60 gallon frag, 40 breeder running the q-3 and this is working perfect.

I agree. These are sometimes overlooked but excellent skimmers.

Anyone who had trouble dialing it in most likely went with too big of skimmer for their system.

I’ve had expensive skimmers and skimmers that we’re not so expensive. Probably the best skimmer was the cheap ASM. I don’t necessarily see value from the high end skimmers. The Q2 has done a nice job. After nearly three years it is starting to get noisy and probably needs a new impeller.

I ran a Q2 on my 120g for a couple years after replacing two pumps on a Bubble Magus NAC5. Only stopped because I took that tank down in a move and have it waiting for a new tank.
