The skimmer works fine but i think it’s too big for my system. It’s 5 months old. Looking to get 375$ or trade for smaller quality skimmer for tanks around 150 gallons.

I have the same model but a Q-2 on my 180g and want to go larger for the bio load. just think it over before u want to sell. Now I’m looking for a larger skimmer.

That skimmer works very well. I agree with the previous remark. Better to have an oversized than an undersized skimmer. Gives you plenty of buffer for heavier bioload.

I’m not even able to keep foam up on it I’ve tried it at all depths from 7 to 9 inches i can’t get it to pull as much as I’ve seen other hobbyist pull with theirs

Spent 430$ on it and it just doesn’t perform for me with is depressing. I definitely don’t have a disposable income by any means but i don’t know what else to do

More fish and/or one feeding seem like an easy enough solution. I would be at 7-8", start with bubbles at the bottom of the cup, and see where it takes you. There's no way I'd sell that if it were mine lol, I'd feed bricks of food before I give it up :)

I feed three times a day (anthias trio) and have 9 fish at the moment. I would consider that heavy bioload for 170 gallons total volume. I’ve been messing with it for 6 months now...I’ve been in the hobby for 17 years and have owned a few skimmers in my day and never had problems.

It took about a week for my q-2 to break in Also did U rinse out with vinegar before using. Have mine set at 8 inch deep that worked best for me. Hope that helps make sure yellow air tubing connected in good. Here’s pic
