Hello everyone,

Yesterday I received my Aquamaxx FC-80 all of you could imagen my excitement. Then for my disappointment when I set it up and plugged it in but with in a min it stop's working. I unplugged it right away and checked the pump and nothing was wrong or so I assemble it back and plugged it back in and same thing happen's for 3-4 try's until i called it a night since I had other thing to do around the house. Also I plugged this morning just because and it worked for about a min and stopped again. My question is do any of you have an idea or suggestions on how I could fix this?

Get on the phone with Marine Depot. A brand new out of the box skimmer should not be giving you any hassle.

Any update on this? Was considering this model.

Yeah marine depot exchanged it and its good know! I was going to wait till I was able to review it better.

ohh yes it's a fantastic Skimmer pulls some really nasty stuff I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 just because the rocky start in the beginning but with the great customer service of @MarineDepot it was hassle free.

Great News! What about the dome lid, is it easy to clean. I read a review stating t can’t be cleaned?
Also what size tank are you running it on? Thanks

its in a 75 gallon, yeah its hard to reach behind the dome part of it but if you get a wire bottle cleaner its and bend it to get behind it it's so much easier.

I am looking at this skimmer for my Reefer 250. Are you still running this skimmer? How has it been over the last few months?

Wow, I know the FC80 is in that size range but man, that seems like a nano skimmer. I'm glad it's doing well for you though! If you had asked me I'd have told you to go for the 120 size

I got a thread reply notification for this thread right after I placed an order for mine. Not OP but I’ll let you know what I think of it when I get it if you’re still on the fence.

I like it pulls good skim but I would also agree with going with a size bigger due to the fact that I’m already planning in upgrading.

both since i would like have a 180G Display tank.

Well I got a blackfriday code from Marine Depot and used my credits to order the FC-80 a few min ago. I figured at $154.99 I wasn't going to do much better and since I can't upgrade to a larger tank in the future, due to 40" being the max length I can fit, then I would just roll with it.

Yeah it would especially if you are going to stock it heavily.
