Aquamaxx HOB 1.5 overflowing

Added a used HOB 1.5 to my 40 gallon all in one tank. But the skimmer keeps overflowing, creating way too many bubbles. I already tried adjusting the cup to the highest point, but it’s still overflowing. Don’t know if this is a dumb question, but not sure what I could do to fix the issue.​

Let me know if you guys have any tips or ideas on what I need to do

If it’s brand new it’s breaking in, take it off and rinse the inside with very hot water for a while

How long has it been doing this? If the skimmer was cleaned very well, then yes it will perform optimally, and if your tank is dirty, then it will result in many bubbled overflowing. Keep emptying the cup, this should stop after emptying it a few times. If it doesn't stop after some short time, then it might be something else, but its hard to guess without seeing. Maybe a short video will help us see.
